Bolton Abbey - our favourite day trip in the Dales
A magical day trip, Bolton Abbey is a stunning destination offering a variety of activity for visitors of all ages, all year round. The estate is located in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales on the banks of the River Wharfe. The estate comprises 30,000 acres of stunning countryside with over 90 miles of footpaths to explore.
So what’s here for me to do during my Bolton Abbey day trip? An almost endless list of activity awaits you and the whole family. See the sights around the ruins of the Priory, visit the Parish Church, take any number of stunning Bolton Abbey walks along the River Wharfe, enjoy the 90 miles of woodland and moorland paths, relax beside the river with a picnic or better still, encounter all manner of wildlife with a leisurely walk in the amazing in the (Site of Special Scientist Interest no less) Strid Wood. Top any of the numerous Bolton Abbey walks off with a visit to one of the stunning tea rooms or restaurants – the cream of the crop being Strid Wood Tea Rooms naturally.
